Community Summary

Heritage Ridge is located in Fruitland Township , Muskegon County , between the communities of North Muskegon and Whitehall . Fruitland Township , which remains one of West Michigan's best kept secrets, is boardered by Lake Michigan to the west, White Lake to the north, and is also home to Duck Lake . Fruitland Township derived its name from fruit crops which have been harvested in the township since its beginning. Fruitland Township 's “Blueberry Festival”, which is held annually in July, celebrates its agricultural history.

 

In addition to its lake influence & natural geographic beauty, Fruitland Township amenities include Duck Lake State Park , Fruitland Township Park , Michigan 's Adventure, White River Light Station, and two golf courses.

 

* Duck Lake State Park is a 728-acre park which offers a sandy beach, beach house, picnic shelters, boat launch, hiking, sking, and snowmobile trails. This park also provides a boardwalk access to Lake Michigan . Duck Lake is a good fishing and swimming lake.

 

*White River Light Station was built in 1875 by William Robinson and now serves as a museum and is open to the public.
